Welcome to the life and work of the avant garde tricycle.

I was fortunate to meet the a.g. tricycle several months ago, on the campus of California State University, East Bay. I was immediately drawn to its peculiar qualities, its odd distribution of weight, its delightfully bright coat of paint marked here and there with the antics of its previous lifetime. The a.g. tricycle was gracious enough to allow me to integrate its unique movement style with my own during our weekly rehearsals. We performed together for the first time in late 2020.

Together, the a.g. tricycle and I have gone beyond the CSU campus. We’ve careened down rocky hillsides and dodged pedestrians on busy sidewalks. Sometimes we move together gracefully, others we crash to the ground. Our creative partnership is an exploration of dance and the world from the vantage point of one man and one tricycle.
